The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that food products meet standards set by the company and regulatory authorities (U.S.D.A, F.D.A., GIG, Organic, and Kosher). The QA Manager develops, reviews, and implements quality and safety policies, manages audits by third-party inspectors, and receives and answers to regulatory officials. The QA Manager trains quality assurance employees and oversees manufacturing and production processes assuring that the best manufacturing processes are followed. The QA Manager position is crucial in reducing consumer complaints and ensuring that the Production Department performs well in both internal and external audits.  The QA Manager relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


  • As part of their daily duties, the QA Manager meets with other supervisors and inspects facilities for compliance with standards, determining methods to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards and procedures.
  • Responsible to manage regulatory processes, receive inspectors, and provide necessary documentation for external regulatory bodies.
  • Review customer feedback, investigate and respond to any customer complaints.
  • Inspect all incoming raw ingredients and respective Certificate of Analysis.
  • Review current labels and inspect all incoming labels.
  • Create and maintain company Allergen Program.
  • Develop quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identify critical control points and preventive measures; establish critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures. Write and maintain company HACCP  
  • Supervise Pest Control Program.
  • Supervise Quality and Sanitation Technicians.
  • Oversee ATP, Allergen, and Gluten Free Testing.
  • Take samples for micro and environmental testing to be sent to a third-party lab.
  • Perform mock recalls.
  • Review and sign pre-shipment packages for USDA and Organic.
  • Oversee SQF Level 2 Audit and Document Control.


  • This position can be physically demanding at times, and may require standing or squatting for prolonged periods of time.


  • PCQI Training
  • HACCP Certification
  • Perform ATP, Allergen, and Gluten Free testing
  • Micro Test Sampling
  • Computer skills
  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, honest and safe


  • Experience with SQF Level 2 Certification
  • Preferred experience with USDA, FDA, GIG, Kosher, and Organic regulatory compliance.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in a food related discipline, such as Food Science, Microbiology or Chemistry.
  • 3+ Years working in Quality Control in the food manufacturing industry
  • 3+ Years Management Experience
