The Quality Assurance Technician ensures the overall quality of all incoming and outgoing product. It is the Quality Assurance Technician's duty to maintain a clean and safe working environment by assuring that the best manufacturing processes are followed. The Quality Assurance Technician's position is crucial in reducing consumer complaints, and ensuring that the Production Department performs well in both internal, and external audits (per U.S.D.A and F.D.A.).

Available Shifts: 

Monday-Wednesday 6am-6pm

Thursday-Saturday 6am-6pm

Thursday-Saturday 6pm-6am

JOB DUTIES

  • Check production rooms for quality, sanitation, and safety on a regular basis
  • Perform operational inspection including checking fill weight, labels, manufacture date, and bar code 
  • Ensure that all employees follow Good Manufacture Practices (GMP's)
  • Perform a variety of tests on food products including ATP, allergen, Alka Seltzer, and gluten-free tests 
  • Perform various inspections and tests on incoming product and product in production 
  • Maintain accurate reporting 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position can be physically demanding at times, and may require standing or squatting for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to lift 50 lbs. on occasion

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of industry-best sanitation practices
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, honest and safe

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year or more experience working in the food industry
  • SQF knowledge a plus
